APS6 Project Officer role, non ongoing for 6 months. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining hospital costing standards and undertaking projects to inform new and refine current cost collections. You will be instrumental in supporting the annual hospital cost collection and the development of costing standards for hospitals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support for specific projects, including maintaining the project schedule and planning milestones, coordinating communications and documenting meetings, and managing administrative aspects like procurement, reporting, and record keeping. You will also undertake risk management activities

  • Assist the annual hospital cost collection pricing advice by preparing data specifications, supporting data validation and submission processes, undertaking quality assurance , and maintaining data security

  • Review and analyse the outputs of the cost collections and report on the results

  • Support the development and maintenance of costing standards for hospitals and the development of new costing methodologies
  • Liaise with stakeholders and support contract management

Key Requirements:

  • The ability to work to tight deadlines and respond flexibly to changing priorities with attention to detail

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and concisely about complex technical subjects for general audiences.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders in both formal and informal settings

  • Initiative, resourcefulness, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a high-pressure environment
  • Strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills for developing discussion papers or supporting new policy.

Desirable Experience:

  • Working knowledge in a health-related field, accounting, and finance. Project management or experience in data analysis and trend reporting is highly desirable
  • Eligibility: Applicants must be Australian citizens at the time an offer of employment is made. Pre-employment checks, including an Australian Federal Police criminal history check, will be conducted.
